Disable &ldquo;Wifi Assist&rdquo; <\/h3>\n\n\n<p>Wifi Assist automatically turns on cellular data when a reliable Wifi is not available. Turning this off can fix the issue when your iPhone is locked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Settings &gt; Cellular &gt; Wi-Fi Assist.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"3-reset-network-settings\">3. Reset network settings<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>Sometimes the issue can be with your network settings. Resetting to default may fix your disconnect issue:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Go to Settings -&gt; General&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press the Reset option&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reset Network Settings<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"personal-hotspot-tethering-disconnects\">Personal Hotspot tethering disconnects<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>If you keep experiencing personal hotspot tethering disconnects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Go to Settings &gt; General &gt; Software Upgrade to update or check for updates.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure your iPhone&rsquo;s Personal Hotspot is turned on: Settings &gt; Personal Hotspot&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure that Allow Others to Join is enabled.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you&rsquo;re using an iPhone 12 as a hotspot, make sure Maximize Compatibility is turned on: Settings &gt; Personal Hotspot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restart your iPhone as well as other devices that are frequently disconnecting from your Personal Hotspot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"number-of-devices-using-your-iphone-hotspot\">Number of devices using your iPhone hotspot<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Up to 3-5 devices can be connected at the same time with the iPhone hotspot. However, the internet speed might slow down as more devices are connected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Newer iPhones can connect more devices, but it also depends on your service provider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some ways to reduce the number of connected devices.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"change-the-wifi-password-for-hotspot\">Change the Wi-Fi password for hotspot<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>You can change the wifi password. This will disconnect connected users and you can then only give the new password to users that you want to be connected with your hotspot: open Settings &gt; Personal Hotspot &gt; Change Password<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"disable-personal-hotspot\">Disable Personal Hotspot<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>Disabling personal hotspots in settings or Control Center will prevent any new users to connect to your hotspot. Go to Settings&gt;Personal Hotspot and toggle off &ldquo;Allow Others to Join&rdquo;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, swipe down (or up for older iPhones) Control Center, long press the top left box, and tap on &ldquo;disable hotspot&rdquo;.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"speeding-up-a-slow-iphone-hotspot\">Speeding up a slow iPhone hotspot<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Here are a few things you can try to speed up your hotspot connection: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Turn off low data mode: low data mode reduces mobile data usage and can cause slower speed. Go to Settings&nbsp; -&gt; Mobile Data &gt; Mobile Data Options, and toggle off Low Data mode<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Check your network speed: check that your service provider is offering decent bandwidth.
